This is a excerpt taken from the monthly magazine: MMA Monthly.
MMA Monthly: Diego, you're a man that has quickly risen into an elite status despite not ever holding championship gold, Does that bug you?
Diego Silva: Does it bug me? No, I don't think it bugs me, if anything, it gives me something to work for. I had my chance and I blew it, and now I have to work my way back into that position again.
MMA Monthly: When you did have your shot, you lost a tough match to former champion, Brandon Johnson. Now with Logan Harding, a man that you beat, as champion... do you think you have better odds if you were to get the next shot?
Diego Silva: Logan is a very tough fighter. I may have won our last fight against each other, but Logan is the type of fighter that takes advantage of every mistake made in the cage. He's the champion for a reason... it's not a fluke. I would have the same odds as if I were fighting Brandon Johnson again or Paul Somers.
MMA Monthly: Speaking of other contenders, besides yourself, who do you see as a threat to the title?
Diego Silva: Well, off the top of my head I would say the top three would be Paul Somers, Brett Ferguson, and Ryan Doze. They are all worthy of receiving a shot at the title. Of course I know a lot of people are pulling for Harding and Somers fourth fight. Either way, I'm just going to continue to do what I've always done... take it one fight at a time and don't look ahead.
MMA Monthly: Let's change gears here... how is your fight camp going, Cursed FC?
Diego Silva: We have a very tight knit group of well established fighters. I couldn't be more happy right now at where we're at. I get a lot of help from Brett (Ferguson) and Mark (Martin). Although Mark is on leave right now to deal with some personal issues.
MMA Monthly: And you are currently looking to add a few more fighters, is that correct?
Diego Silva: Yeah, we are pretty thin right now in the Middleweight division and I'm looking to find a few young guys to guide. I wouldn't shy away from a seasoned veteran either, but we're looking to add maybe two to three more fighters.
MMA Monthly: Well Diego, I wish your career the best of luck as well as your fight camp. I know your a huge hit for the fans and you continue to widen eyes with each fight.
Diego Silva: Thanks for letting me share. And thanks to everyone out there that comes out to see us or pays to see us on television. We have the greatest fans! Thanks.
