IMMAF Magazine: I'm here with IMMAF fighter Nathan Pardy. Nathan entered the IMMAF talking a lot of trash, he also didn't live up to his own high standards. Tonight we will be discussing his fights and his plans for the futures as well as what went on with Mason "Iron" Wolfe.
IMMAF Magazine: Nathan, it's great to have you here with us. How are you?
Nathan Pardy: I'm doing fine. I just finished up with a great training session and feel different. Not in a bad way, just with this extra weight I'm carrying myself differently and seems to be effecting my fight game...for the better.
IMMAF Magazine: Since you mentioned it you have made the move to 185. Now for a person of your height it seems like a great idea, but I'm sure the fans would like to know why you would put your body through the punishment of cutting to 170.
Nathan Pardy: Well first of all being 6'3 and in the 170 division was a good idea, the only issue with it was getting caught but the submission guys. It is hard to defend longer limbs you know. But I made the move up to 185 because I wanted to see if I could live up to my greatness, I sure wasn't finding it at 170.
IMMAF Magazine: Is there anyone in particular you'd like to fight at 185?
Nathan Pardy: Endo. I'd love my first fight at 185 to be against Endo.
IMMAF Magazine: Why Endo?
Nathan Pardy: Why not? He's a former champion and would be a real test for me. If I could beat him then I'd know I could last in that division.
IMMAF Magazine: Now before we move on...well I'm not sure how to say this.
Nathan Pardy: Just spit it out.
IMMAF Magazine: Well okay then. You seem nicer then in your interviews and promo's. What's up?
Nathan Pardy: Well that's actually a funny story, well it actually may not be funny but here it is. When I was growing up my hero was Mitch Armour. I wanted to be him. I mean I would act like him, dress like him, hell I would even talk like him. I guess because I was acting like him for so long it just kind of made me come in here and try to be like him. It may not have won me any fans, and it sure seemed to get me some hate but it was my own way of paying him respect. Now I'm just myself, I was tired of being booed and I'm hoping being myself will get that to stop.
IMMAF Magazine: Why did you look up to Mitch?
Nathan Pardy: He's got to be one of, if not the best fighter in the IMMAF. He is a multiple time champion and is still going when he's damn near 40. I can only hope to have a career like that.
IMMAF Magazine: Now that we have that all cleared up I'm sure the readers would like to know what happened with Mason Wolfe. He looked so promising and then he just up and left your gym. Or was he thrown out? I know there have been some rumors going around that he was kicked out.
Nathan Pardy: Well, Mason was a great guy. But once he started to succeed he got a real big ego and started to abuse some of the younger guys training here. He would go all out and actually cracked someone skull with a knee. After that he was one thin ice here. I warned him that if he did anything like that again then he would be thrown out on his ass.
IMMAF Magazine: I'm assuming he did something worse. Can you comment on it?
Nathan Pardy: He got very drunk one night and practically destroyed the gym, my car, a fellow gym members car, and he assault a by stander. That was the last straw and once I had him under control I requested that he be taken to the local drunk tank so he could sleep it off. What really bugs me is he hasn't even apologized, he ruined a lot of property and most likely scarred someone mentally and he just leaves without say anything.
IMMAF Magazine: That does sound very bad. I must say you did the right thing. Now before we finish this off is there anything else you'd like to say to the readers?
Nathan Pardy: Not really. Besides me being myself from now on you can expect to see a slightly altered style and hopefully some wins. I would also like to wish Mitch Armour luck in his upcoming title fight, I know he can win.
