Maria Cruz: I really need a name for this section of Spitfire, it has to be a cool one too, not like "Maria's Way" or anything.....something like....I don't know, maybe I can say something cool like "Hey guys, welcome back to Maria's joint and it is time to spit! fire!
........................................
......tch yeeeeah...as you can see I need some material, send me some suggestions, thanks!
Phew, I'm not doing so well guys. I can't really tell if I'm losing it or if the new caliber of fighters are just that good. And if they are that good, what can I do to get better?
Should I train at a different camp rather than with the same guys to break the routine? And if I'm losing it then maybe I should jump back into retirement without coming out a second time, afterall I only really came out of retirement to fight TKO because that was a fight that people wanted to see way back when TKO was on top of the WoTC and I was on top of the IMMAF.
I didn't really...I want to say I didn't respect the next couple of fighters but I did respect them..took them lightly? No I didn't take them lightly either, at least I don't think I did...I remember when I would cry after every fight win or lose because that's how much the competition meant to me, now it's like "Yeah I loss oh well, better luck next time". Maybe my heart isn't in it anymore, I dunno, but enough about me, I already loss, no use in sulking over it, onto better subjects!
I would like to congratulate the Spitfire Gym as a whole for going out there and getting the job done, finishing fights, Tavier, Brian, Kenichiro, Jaya, Shawn, Dan, Erick, everyone has been doing a great job. Win or lose, you go out there and give the people what they want to see, and as long as you do this and keep the fans happy, I'm proud.
Well that's not a fair title...it should be IMMAF 61: CRUZIN
No seriously, this is a great card. We have three guys fighting on this card, Erick Coleman who's taking on Johnny Vaughn, Dan Mariano vs Tatsuya Yamamoto and Main eventing it is Brian McKenzie as he takes on Dwayne Rockwell for the Middleweight Title. All of you guys have crucial fights on this card so stay focused.
I've noticed that you've been losing focus of the task ever since losing your title Dan, try and remember what this is all about, it isnt about belts or what not, it's about proving to the IMMAF, the fans and yourself that you belong here. Now Yamamoto is good in the clinch, but I feel that you're actually better than him standing. as long as you beat him to the punch and DO NOT let him take you down you should be fine. Keep it standing, keep your distance, high kick.
Johnny Vaughn is VERY well rounded, former Heavyweight Champion, so take caution when fighting him Erick, but try not to respect him too much. In fact, stay on top of him. Go for the take down right off the bat and push him and push him and push him. Make him work for every thing he wants to do, he hates that. The caution comes in after you take him down. Vaughn likes to go for various submissions so watch yourself, and whenever you have the chance to rain down punches, do so.
McKenzie this is no doubt the biggest fight of your career right now. If I didn't know any better, I'd think that the IMMAF were trying to feed you to Rockwell. Time to throw a wrench in their plans. So many people fear Rockwell because he's so well rounded. Little do they know he's not the submission fighter he once was, or atleast that's what I've seen since he returned. He fights kind of like Olivera did when he first came to the IMMAF, so I'm going to need you to fight him like you did my brother. Notice when fighting Oswald Perez at IMMAF 57, Rockwell was struggling to get out from under him, and now goes for virtually NO submissions, even when Les gave his back to Rockwell in their title fight! Take him down, challenge his submission skills and take that title. He'll never see someone challenging him on the ground coming.
I'm expecting the best from all three of you at IMMAF 61, make your fans proud!
